Day 8

Read The Message of the Restoration: The Foundation of Faith p. 6-8

Discuss as you read:
~What are the truths of our Heavenly Father discussed in this section? (answers are summarized)
    1. God is our literal Father in Heaven.
    2. Our loving Father in Heaven reached out to His children throughout biblical history by revealing His Gospel to prophets.
    3. Our Father in Heaven sent His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to Earth to atone for our sins.
    4. He restored His gospel here on Earth.

   ~ What are the truths restored through Joseph Smith discussed in this section?
       1. God is our Father
       2. We are His spirit children
       3.  We lived with Him before birth
       4.  Families can live together forever in God’s presence through            Christ’s Atonement by obeying the laws and ordinances of the          gospel.

  Activity: Personal Study ~ Write an article about the message of the Restoration for a local newspaper. Here are a few activities and references:


Day 7

Read The Gospel of Jesus Christ p. 5-6

Discussion: This section discusses the ultimate reason and purpose for missionaries, as well as the purpose and roles as members of this gospel.

Practice sharing your testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Study Skills and Memory Work:  
~Learn about using art as a way to memorize by checking out:

Older children can choose a topic or short book and use this example to take notes. 

~Work on memorizing Article of Faith #1




Day 6

Read and Discuss The Power and Authority of Your Calling on p. 4
~Read Paragraph 1
~Read Paragraph 2- How can you set apart from the world?
~Read Paragraph 3 – Discuss how you are to act and behave.  Is it     different than a missionary?
~Read Paragraph 4 – Work and Teaching via Power and Authority   is evident by:

Discussion: Look at the painting and read John 15:1-16. Discuss the 1st question in Activity.

Science: Study of Vines

~Follow the below links for an in-depth study of vines or a quick worksheet to identify the parts.  







Day 5


Read Teaching by the Spirit on p. 3.

Read under the headline What is My Purpose as a Missionary? p.1 Stop at The Gospel Blesses Families

Discussion: How can we apply a missionary's purpose to your life right now? 

List all the roles you play.

Create a sentence (or draw) that describes and incorporates your roles with a purpose. ex. I am a hardworking student who loves my siblings, respects my parents, and is a good example of my Savior to my friends and family.

Day 2

Read over the introduction

Discuss the purposes and take a "tour" through the book. 

Discuss study schedules as missionaries. Now discuss your study schedule as a student.
Compare your studies.

How can your family fit missionary study into your life?
Ex. Personal- How and when will you study? Companion- Share what you have learned with your siblings. District Meetings- Share with dad., teach one another, practice, explain, and discuss progress and needs.

Life Skills: Make and keep a schedule and to do list. Make your own scripture study journal.
